How to Get Your Minnesota Medical Marijuana Card
Step 1: Schedule Your Appointment

Before your appointment, you’ll complete a brief medical history form to help your doctor understand your condition, symptoms, and overall wellness goals.
Step 2: Complete Your Evaluation
During your consultation, your doctor will review your medical records, symptoms, and prior treatments to determine if you qualify for the Minnesota Medical Cannabis Program.
If approved, your provider will issue an electronic certification directly to the Minnesota Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC) — confirming your eligibility to register as a medical cannabis patient.
After certification, you’ll receive an email from the OMC with instructions to complete your patient registration.
Step 3: Register with the State
Once you’ve been certified by your physician, complete your registration through the Minnesota Medical Cannabis Registry using your valid state ID or driver’s license, your electronic certification confirmation email from the Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC), and payment for the $200 annual registration fee (reduced to $50 for qualifying low-income patients). After registering, you’ll schedule an initial consultation with a Cannabis Patient Center pharmacist, who will guide you in selecting the most effective products and dosages for your needs. Once your registration is processed, you’ll gain legal access to purchase medical cannabis — including oils, edibles, tablets, tinctures, topicals, and dried flower — from any licensed Minnesota Cannabis Patient Center statewide.

Minnesota residents 18 years and older can qualify, while minors may register through a parent or legal guardian as a caregiver.
Certified patients can legally purchase and possess medical cannabis products within approved limits set by the OMC.
Smoking medical cannabis flower is now permitted under updated state law.
