Step 2: Complete Your Evaluation
During your appointment, the physician will review your medical history, current symptoms, and treatment goals to determine if you qualify for Georgia’s Low THC Oil Program. If you meet the state’s eligibility criteria, your doctor will certify you for medical cannabis use and submit your information directly to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) to create your profile in the Low THC Oil Patient Registry.If approved, your physician will complete and submit an official Low THC Oil Patient Certification to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH). This certification confirms your eligibility to legally possess and use low-THC cannabis oil as part of your treatment plan.
Step 3: Register with the State
After your doctor certifies you, the Georgia DPH will process your registration and mail your Low THC Registry Card to the address on file. Once received, you’ll be legally authorized to possess up to 20 fluid ounces of low-THC cannabis oil and purchase approved products from licensed Georgia dispensaries.
Important
Medical cannabis in Georgia is limited to low-THC oil (containing no more than 5% THC and at least an equal amount of CBD).
Patients must carry their Low THC Registry Card at all times when in possession of medical cannabis oil.
Cards are valid for two years and must be renewed with your certifying physician before expiration.
All patient data is protected under Georgia’s confidentiality laws and handled securely by the DPH.

- Intractable Nausea or Vomiting due to Cancer Treatment
